For a better result
- 🔑 Match the reference expression and head angle to the target pose — a smiling reference for a smiling look, a calm one for a calm look. Don't ask AI to invent a new expression; it reshapes the face.
- Add "keep our original head angles and expressions from the reference photo" to lock the likeness every time.
- Name the man's facial hair explicitly — "keep his beard and moustache" — the retro look tends to shave it off.
- If ChatGPT swaps who is who: "the person on the left is the man."
- Higher-resolution photos hold likeness far better than screenshots.
- If signs or overlay text come out garbled, reply: "re-render all text clean and correctly spelled: [exact words]."
- Two people is the sweet spot — group photos rarely hold the pose.
On likeness: AI keeps faces close, not perfect. Treat each result as a stylised portrait, not a photograph — post only the runs where both faces still read as you.
